Defense Army of the Republic of Artsakh

As we already reported earlier, yesterday the units of Defense Army of Artsakh continued administering debilitating blows to the enemy and significantly improving their positions. Particularly, yesterday at around 14:00 there has been a counterattack with active participation of DA’s Special Purpose Units (SPU) and the detachment of “Voluntary Movement” NGO in the northern sector of the front. The onslaught has resulted in taking back hill Varangatagh (Lulasaz) and six enemy killed in action. At this moment combat operations in the conflict zone of Artsakh and Azerbaijan go on.

Azerbaijani forces used the “relative calm” on October 6, that occurred following the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairing countries’ foreign ministerial statement, to regroup and launch a new attack from the northern and southern directions of the frontline. The adversary’s actions also endangered the territory of Iran. The Defense Army troops have neutralized the Azerbaijani military’s all advancement attempts with heavy counterstrikes. Large numbers of Azerbaijani manpower, military hardware, artillery and other military equipment and ammunition have been destroyed during the battles. The Defense Army units significantly succeeded to improve their battle orders. Azerbaijani forces tried to advance in the south-eastern directions during the night. The attacking units of the enemy were destroyed by rocket fire. At around 06:30 in the morning, another missile strike attack by the Defense Army units led to the demoralization of the enemy group and a panicked escape. The enemy left more than 60 casualties on the battlefield, several dozen wounded and equipment. The Defense Army is confident in the operative-tactical situation and is ready for any development.

It’s the second day that the subdivisions of the Azerbaijani Armed forces, not having abilities to direct effective offenses, started to apply to visible provocations. Particularly, in the southern direction of the Artsakh-Azerbaijani military operation, the Azerbaijani subdivisions get accumulated right along the Artsakh-Iran border(along the Aras river) in big groups and factually, being concealed in that border, they try to move forward. By that strategy, the Azerbaijani side tries to provoke the Artsakhian side to fire or strike along the border, factually in the direction of Iran. It’s not excluded either that as a rresult of military operations the Azerbaijani subdivisions, not having another choice, will retreat and run away. To avoid all these, we think the Iranian side, which certainly sees all these, should prevent or oblige them to refrain from those gatherings.

During the night the enemy has attempted to advance and consolidate in the southeast direction (off Jebrail), but Azerbaijani units have been engaged and defeated by accurate rocket-artillery fire of Armenian (Armed) Forces. At 06.30, after another rocket-artillery fire, the remnants of three enemy oversized brigades have fled the battlefield in panic, leaving in their wake more 60 killed in action, as well as 22 destroyed and several dozen operational pieces of equipment. Video is available. Not long before, a large enemy POL storage depot was destroyed in the southeastern direction by a pinpoint fire of the Armenian units. There are now opportunities in various directions of the frontline for exploitation of success.
