On January 27 the Annual Forum of “Enlight” Public Research Center NGO was held at Microsoft Innovation Center.
Unlike previous years, the Forum underwent a slight format change. The meeting, in which individuals interested in the activities of “Enlight” could also participate, proceeded through a panel discussion.
The Forum opened with a welcome speech by Davit Petrosyan, the president of the organization. Next, Anna Khachian, the organization’s editor-in-chief, and Mery Babayan, the vice-president, initiated a summary of the organization’s activities in 2023 through a question-and-answer session. Heads of departments also made speeches. Referring to the ongoing and concluded projects implemented by the joint efforts of the departments, they also highlighted the projects implemented as a result of “Enlight’s” cooperation with other organizations. The presentations encompassed published authorial articles, translations (both into Armenian and from Armenian into other languages), projects that have already been implemented or are still in the formative stage. Here are some of them:
- “Digital Armenia” (a new emerging project: statistical data covering social, cultural, economic and other topics presented in the form of infographics),
- #EnlightVideocast (video project – a series of short interviews with Enlighters),
- #EnlightInfografics (repository of infographic materials),
- “Inadu” podcast (a series of materials written on the basis of the “Inadu” podcast against the backdrop of the events that took place in Artsakh).
The Forum continued with the election of the Legislative bodies. Mariam Jamalyan, Lusine Hovhannisyan, Gor Madoyan were elected as members of the Board, Nare Smbatyan was elected as Appellant, and Anna Minasaryan was elected as Auditor.
The newly elected representatives of the Legislative bodies spoke about their goals and future tasks, identifying 3 priority goals, the implementation of which should contribute to the development and progress of the organization:
- Attracting new members,
- Implementation of regional programs,
- Diversification of financial sources.
The Forum was held and concluded with a comprehensive and multi-content discussion of the current and prospective issues of the Organization.
