On November 7, a lecture on the draft “Law of the Republic of Armenia on military service and the status of military servicemen” took place in the Museum of Russian Art, in the framework of the “LiveTalks” project.
Students, ACoYA analysts, journalists and NGO representatives were present at the event.
A speech was delivered by the president of the ACoYA, Areg Kochinyan, who first introduced the draft law with all its advantages and disadvantages, its ambiguous and unambiguous sides, and then expressed his opinion about “On behalf of the science development” movement, emphasizing his own views on the importance of investing the movement to the political ground. The speaker also expressed his vision on engaging females in the military service.
The lecture was followed by question-and-answer session, during which the audience expressed and discussed their own positions on the issue. At the end of the event, many of the listeners agreed on the views expressed during the speech, noting also the participation of females in military service, and putting a strong focus on their function in the rear. It is worth mentioning that the participants of the discussion, the speaker in particular, were people interested in the problems related to the society and ready to take a constructive discussion from the very beginning.
